!Meet Merry
A resident of Tolland for over 20 years, Merry is a proud mother, wife, member of several civic organizations, small business owner, State of CT Justice of the Peace and retired Director of Regulatory Insurance Technology. She earned a degree in Business Management and a number of professional licenses and certifications from the University of Connecticut and Cornell University.
Merry, began working in the tobacco fields of East Windsor as a young teenager and has long been active in our community. An award winning businesswoman Merry received the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Commander Award for six years running, numerous business awards from ChoicePoint LexisNexis, American Automobile Assoc., the American Red Cross, plus others. She volunteer(s/ed) with the Governor’s Prevention Partnership to help implement a children's mentoring program, Habitat for Humanity, American Red Cross, TGTCF (Tolland County) via the Hartford Foundation for Giving, Tolland Democratic Town Committee and more. Merry continues to regularly volunteer for various organizations and committees in the 35th District and surrounding towns.
Having lived and worked in the 35th District for decades, Merry knows we deserve better from our current elected leaders in Hartford. Her priorities reflect those of the residents in the district, including reducing taxes for the middle class and seniors, cost of living concerns, ensuring our schools receive their fair share of state funding, saving our regional hospitals and addressing the current housing crisis through affordable homeownership while maintaining the history and beauty of our towns.
